Ainaloa is located on the mountain side of Highway 130, the ocean is about 4 miles from the entrance of the subdivision. Lots in Ainaloa range from 8,000 to 12,000 square feet. The water system is by catchment, the water is caught on the roof of the house, stored in "catchment" tanks and then pumped into the home when needed. The waste disposal system Ainaloa is by septic tank. Electricity is available to all lots. Ainaloa has an active home owner's association (808?982-9404). Real property taxes on a particular parcel vacant land are are evaluated and assessed annually buy the Real Property Tax Office, County of Hawaii. There is no requirement that a lot owner build within a certain amount of time, if at all. Keaau, the closest town has a post office, a Sure Save Supermarket, several restaurants (including McDonalds), a couple of convenience stores, an Ace Hardware, an open air market, an auto supply store, a couple of gas stations and several churches. The State of Hawaii has recently built new Middle and High Schools between Ainaloa and Keaau. The prestigious Kamahemaha Schools (www.ksbe.edu/ ) has recently opened a facility just outside of Keaau as well. |
